Win a Starbucks Verismo

Starbucks Verismo: $199

I think it’s the worst kept secret that I love Starbucks.  I L.O.V.E Starbucks like I’ve read the Starbucks book Onward. That Starbucks sent me. Because I love Starbucks. I was very upset when I thought I had an ALLERGY to coffee. I (and Starbucks’ CFO) was relieved to find out that I have a thyroid problem instead.

Why do I love Starbucks?

Because I do.  I like that you can taste the beans when the dark roast is brewed just right. I like that the baristas genuinely seem happy to see you when you walk into the store.  I like that I can pay from my iPhone. I just LIKE. I mean LOVE.

Also, the snacks are really good although I used to love the ginger molasses cookie a lot more until I found out it’s 400 calories. OMG. For a cookie.  Thankfully, I can’t find the calories for my current obsession on my app. So, the pumpkin loaf with sunflower seeds on top stays a pleasure that I pretend isn’t guilty.  But, I digress.

When I was at Blogher last summer I tried out Starbucks’ new single serve coffee machine, called the Verismo.  I was a tough customer.

I’ve already got a single-serve machine, the Keurig, in which I brew Starbucks coffee pods (I know, I know. It sounds like I’m obsessed. I’m not.) II had a Tassimo because my husband wanted Cappuccinos and Lattes without shelling out $1000 for a fancy machine (that I want. I really do. No I don’t. Yes I do.)  We got rid of it because the milk cartridges tasted like chemicals.  So, I was skeptical when the barista in the Starbucks suite offered me a Verismo latte.  Once she told me that the pods contain UHT milk like they use in Europe (where I spent the best 8 months of my life that I can’t remember), I decided to give it a sip.  And, it was good. It tasted good. Like a latte.

Why am I telling you this? Because right now, until October 8, 2012, Starbucks is having a Pinterest contest where you can win yourself a Verismo ($199 and worth it).  All you have to do is

1. Create a Pinterest board entitled, ‘It’s Possible’

2. Pin the picture of the Verismo on the entry page

3. Pin all kinds of things you think are possible.

4. Click here to enter.

Here’s my ITS POSSIBLE board.

I hope I win because my review unit that’s arriving soon will have to go back and make someone else happy but me sad.

I hope you win because, well, I’m nice like that.

By the way, I’m a purist when it comes to my Starbucks-Grande Bold in a Venti cup with non-fat milk. I’m telling you that in case you’re ever meeting up with me and want to bring me a coffee.

Note:  I was in no way compensated for this post. My compensation will be your happiness when you try a Verismo cappuccino and find out that it doesn’t taste like chemicals, but in fact tastes like a cappuccino.

I get the impression you like Starbucks. And I don’t want to know the calories either. Ignorance is more fun.

Hi Lawrence. When you go into Pinterest, look at the arrow next to your name/avatar. Drop it down, you’ll see boards. Click on boards. Then click on your ‘It’s Possible’ board. Your board URL will be in the URL bar above.

  4. BP says:

Did you win? I created a board but have not heard anything yet…so I assume I did not! Hope you did.

Did anyone win the pinterest Verismo contest??

  6. Gina says:

Anybody know what happened? I tried “tweeting” at Starbucks, but they didn’t answer me. I asked if winners were chosen.

    • Mara says:

Hi Gina, Winners were chosen. I was with the Starbucks Canada Social media manager yesterday and she said she will see what she can find out for us.

  7. Ryan origon says:

I entered this also, but I can’t seem to find a winners list anywhere….did you find one??

  8. BP says:

Still no list of winners! Did Starbucks even have the contest to begin with??? Did you ever contact STarbucks and did they respond?

    • Mara says:

Hi BP, I did contact Starbucks and their PR company, and they draw was completed and the winners contacted. Here are the rules, for your reference, http://starbucks.promo.eprize.com/possible/:b=ie8/public/fulfillment/rules.pdf. The Starbucks Social Media manager will be coming over to this page to answer any of your questions.

It’s just a bit strange that not one person who won mentioned it on the internet. Including on Starbucks facebook specifically on the post about the contest. Every website I have been to mentioning the contest has comments of people asking who won and is it over. Not one person said “i won.” Weird. Thank you for answering though.

  9. Ryan says:

So do you have a link to the list of winners?

  10. Rachael says:

I am shocked by this! I did everything that the contest said to do. I am not kidding. I have no idea why I didn’t win… Plus, there are only about 320-325 posted winners. :(

  11. Johana Hernandez says:

Hi just wanted to le you guys that I enter the contest and I got an email on october 29 saying that I won. To wait 8-10 weeks for it to arrive. ;)
