The Fastest Dinner Ever: Cheesy Broccoli Naan Pizzette

Ok so it’s the first week of September. The kiddos are back in school, the traffic is horrendous again and after-school programs are starting up. In other words, the INSANITY is back. And you’ve been informed by your troops that while they LOOOOOVE BBQ’d hamburgers, hot dogs and chicken, if they have to eat those summertime go-tos one more time, they’re gonna blow (or is that just me? What can I say? I like dinners that are on the table with no mess and no fuss). This unofficial rebellion means you’re on the hunt for a new dinnertime favourite that can be on the table in about 20 minutes.

Meet these little bites of pizza heaven from President’s Choice. Ready in about 20 minutes, these Cheesy Broccoli Naan Pizzettes have it all. They’re healthy (18 g of protein per serving!), easy to make, and best of all, fun to eat (especially for those with little hands.) In fact, since they’re so cute, they may ease after school crankiness. It’s not scientifically proven, but I’m pretty sure it’s true.

Chef’s note: Have them wash their hands and make their own dinner.

Cheesy Broccoli Naan Pizzettes (Makes 4 servings)

What You’ll Need:

1 1/2 cups (375 ml) broccoli florets

8 PC Traditional Naan rounds

5 tbsp (75 ml) PC Aioli Creamy Garlic Sauce

1 1/2 cups (375 ml) PC Tre Formaggi Shredded Italian Cheese

What You’ll Do:

  1. Preheat oven to 425°F (220°C).
  2. In saucepan of boiling water, cook broccoli for 1-½ to 2 minutes or until tender-crisp. Drain well. Cool on cutting board for 2 minutes, then chop into small pieces. Set aside.
  3. Place wire rack on a large rimmed baking sheet. Arrange naan rounds on rack. Divide and spread aioli over each naan. Scatter broccoli over naan rounds, then cheese.
  4. Bake in centre of oven for 8 to 10 minutes or until cheese is golden and bubbling. Let stand 1 minute before serving.
